Perry Hines
Perry Hines is the Vice President of Marketing for the
Investment Board of Directors. As Vice President of Marketing,
he aids in the development of new business and investment
opportunities. Mr. Hines is also the President and majority
owner of Opportunity Management, LLC, which provides real estate
and strategic marketing advice for small to medium sized
companies. In addition, Mr. Hines recently was appointed as the
President of Indianapolis-based Truth @ Work, a non-profit
organization providing products & services for Christian small
business owners. From 2002 to 2006, Mr. Hines served as the
Senior Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer, of Irwin
Mortgage Corporation, a national residential mortgage Fund
headquartered in Indianapolis. With his appointment to Irwin
Mortgage Corporation in 2002, Mr. Hines became the youngest
member of the Fund’s senior executive team, the highest ranking
African-American within the organization, and one of the highest
ranking African-Americans in the U.S. residential mortgage
industry. While at Irwin Mortgage Corporation, Mr. Hines was
responsible for driving all marketing initiatives in both the
business-to-consumer and the business-to-business environment
and directed the activities of Irwin Mortgage Corporation’s
national philanthropic efforts. Prior to joining Irwin Mortgage
Corporation, Mr. Hines was the Senior Vice President of North
American Sales & Marketing in the life/health division of Swiss
Re, one of the world’s largest life reinsurance companies based
in Zurich, Switzerland, where he spearheaded several major
corporate-wide global initiatives. Prior to his work at Swiss
Re, Mr. Hines was employed with Lincoln Re and American States
Financial Corporation, and a number of other Fortune 500
companies, including General Mills, Target Corporation, Wyeth
Corporation, and CKE Enterprises. Mr. Hines is actively
involved in his community and serves as a board member of
numerous non-profit organizations, including the Indiana
Humanities Council, the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School
of Management National Alumni Board, the Indianapolis Zoo, the
Indianapolis Urban League, the Madame C.J. Walker Theater, the
Coalition for Homelessness Intervention and Prevention (CHIP),
and Northview Christian Life Church. Over the years, Mr. Hines
has received numerous community and business honors, and also
has served as a key advisor to Indianapolis’ first
African-American U.S. Representative, Julia Carson. Mr. Hines
holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Western Kentucky
University and an MBA with a marketing concentration from the
Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota.
